Sigtec wins COMCAR Tender in ACT

Sigtec selected to provide high reliability Reservation and Dispatch system to Department of Finance and Deregulation.
Following an open tender process, Sigtec has been awarded the contract to design, build, and implement a national vehicle reservation and dispatch management system for Finance's COMCAR fleet. Finance currently operates in all states and territories a fleet of 150 vehicles and employs over 78 full-time and 248 casual staff.
The new system is crucial to COMCAR's mission to provide high quality, nationwide, secure and confidential car-with-driver transportation services. "With customers such as the Prime Minister, Cabinet Ministers, members of the Federal Judiciary, Senators and visiting Guests of Government, the solution must work all the time and efficiently deliver work to the drivers." said John Thompson Sigtec's Managing Director. "Mr Thompson pointed to the company's pedigree in delivering Public Safety solutions and that the same techniques will be in employed with the COMCAR solution. We will use the latest GPS based dispatch technology, implement redundant communications channels to every vehicle and manage both primary and disaster recovery sites to ensure continuity of service. It's a large nationwide project but we are up to the challenge and look forward to having COMCAR as an important reference customer"
The contract, which will commence in July 2011 and is scheduled for completion within a year, is valued at over AUD 5m.
